Reno’s coffee shops aren’t just about caffeine; they’re where community, creativity, and culture brew together. There are plenty of coffee shops in the heart of the biggest little city, and there is bound to be one that suits everyone. Despite the abundance of fantastic stores, these are the best places to get a great cup of coffee and have fun in Reno right now.
The newest coffee truck in Reno is called Pink Sugar Coffee. This truck has lines down the street with customers eager to sample one of its specialty beverages due to their social media posts that went viral. Recently, they have been organizing entertaining pop-up events in collaboration with nearby Reno businesses. Their most recent event, which was a Gilmore Girls day created in partnership with Box of Love Reno, was a huge success. The famous show and the fall atmosphere served as the inspiration for all of the drinks and merchandise offered. From their coffee syrups to their cuisine, everything is produced in-house with passion and purpose. The Banana Dream and Gold Digger are their best-selling beverages.
Another recent addition to Reno's coffee scene is Roamer Coffee House. In 2022, Roamer Coffee transformed from a coffee van to a cafe. A few months ago, they established their second shop in Sparks. They offer and serve a lot of goods from women-owned brands, small businesses, and local manufacturers. They differentiate themselves from conventional coffee shops by combining unusual ingredients to make enjoyable drinks. Dolly Parton's Banana and Chocolate Latte, The Aloha's White Mocha and Macadamia Latte, Cloud Nine's Marshmallow & Matcha Latte, and Tropical Chai's Coconut Chai are a few of their well-known beverage innovations.
The reaction to Rising for People Coffee's recent Midtown opening has been overwhelming. This coffee store prioritizes collaborations with small, family-run coffee farms that steer clear of artificial pesticides and fertilizers. By aggressively pursuing collaborations with women-owned farms, they are committed to gender equity, fair trade principles, and providing their farmers with livable pay. As part of the Ecodrive Community, Rising for People plants a mangrove tree in Kenya for each coffee bag that is sold. 11,162 trees have been planted so far, giving the locals in Kenya access to fishing grounds. This project helps to create additional income streams, including sustainable harvests from the mangrove forests. Make sure to visit and sample their tasty, entertaining coffee flights, which are their specialty.
Hub Coffee was established in 2009 in a small garage in Midtown and has since expanded to become a Reno favorite that combines a love of coffee, community, and cycling. After roasting their beans in San Francisco since 2012, they now work closely with three Colombian farms to provide premium coffee while keeping strong relationships to the source. Mark, the owner, is dedicated to upholding the highest moral standards while assistingproducers in bettering their companies and communities. Students, cyclists, and locals all congregate at their three Reno cafes: Meadow Creek, Riverside along the Truckee River, and the Reno Experience District.
Pangolin Cafe is located in the center of Midtown. This artisan cafe serves excellent drinks and a Turkish Delight with every order, putting a distinctive spin on the classic coffee shop. In 2024, Pangolin was listed as one of Yelp's "Top 25 Coffee Spots 2024," ranking fifth nationwide. To develop the recipe for the Turkish Delight, co-owner Travis Sandefur trained under a lokum confection expert in Konya, Turkey. As a sign of its appreciation for the neighborhood in which it lives, Pangolin also collaborates with nearby companies in Reno. Every season, Pangolin adds new dishes and beverages to its menu, but its Cubano Breve and Istanbul Fog are two of its standout beverages. Don't forget to visit and sample one of their well-known Turkish treats.
Even while Perenn is one of Reno's most well-known restaurants, their Midtown coffee shop is just as deserving of praise. Between Reno and Tennessee, Aubery and Tyler now run four bakeries, a grocery store, and a rotisserie. They began their careers as private chefs and later founded a catering business. Perenn uses ingredients from Clover Farm and serves organic coffee that is locally roasted by Alpen Sierra. They offer a wide variety of teas as an alternative to their coffee goods. In addition to Perenn's well-known pastries, the Midtown restaurant offers a limited menu of sandwiches and toasts. Their homemade vanilla latte served with a golden toast or sticky bun is a must-try.
Buzzed Coffee is located in the center of the University of Nevada campus. This student favorite is a coffee shop and thrift pop-up that opened in 2022. Buzzed offers vintage apparel for sale in addition to delicious drinks, so students always have a great time. Buzzed regularly organizes activities for students, including fundraisers like Toys for Tots and promotions 50% off drinks on the first day of classes. With a wide variety of coffee choices, matcha, and even Redbull refreshers, their menu is rather extensive. This coffee shop is always keeping students caffeinated and will be sure to give you a buzz.
