Hi, I’m Lexi Cantrell!

Hi! I'm Lexi Cantrell, a journalism student at San Diego State University with a passion for sports media and broadcasting.

Growing up in Orange County, California, sports have always been at the center of my life. I played competitive soccer for 14 years, and those experiences shaped not only who I am as an athlete but also inspired the career I'm pursuing today. After spending years competing on the field, I discovered a passion for telling the stories behind the games, athletes, and moments that make sports so meaningful.

Outside of journalism, I enjoy staying active through fitness, trying new coffee shops, and spending time at the beach. I also love cooking and baking. Reading and creative writing give me another outlet to explore storytelling beyond the world of sports.

When I'm not creating content, you'll find me cheering on my favorite teams: the Kansas City Chiefs, Colorado Buffaloes, Golden State Warriors, Golden State Valkyries, and Angel City FC. Being both an athlete and a lifelong fan has given me a unique appreciation for the dedication, emotion, and community that make sports so impactful.

As I continue my journey in sports journalism, my goal is to become a sports broadcaster covering football, basketball, or soccer. Whether I'm reporting from the sidelines, anchoring a show, or producing content behind the scenes, I hope to tell stories that connect fans with the athletes and games they love.
